PBA DESK : Bangladesh Women’s football team head coach Golam Robanni Choton is expecting competitive football from his girls in the SAFF Women’s Championship starting from March 12 in Nepal.
Addressing at a pre-departure press conference held on Saturday at conference room of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Choton also said they are eying to reach semi-final of the tournament and if everything go ok with them, then they would think with the final.
“Our preparation has been going in continuous process and girls are now in rigorous training … we have a very good preparation … India and Nepal are very strong opponents but we hope we’ll be able to bring good result from the tournament,” said Choton at a press conference.
“My first target is semifinal and if we able to play the semifinal, then must play the final,” he added.
Bangladesh finished runners-up losing to India in the final in the last edition of the tournament but this time Choton thinks that his team is quite matured now compared to the last edition’s SAFF team and able to give their best to snatch a good result.
“We finished runners-up in the last edition and in the last two years our team has gained quite maturity participating many international tournaments and I hope the girls will be able to bring a good result,” said the Bangladesh’s head coach.
Skipper Sabina Khatun, who was present in the press conference, also echoed the same statement by saying that they would give their maximum effort to bring a good result for the country.
BFF women’s wing chairman Mahfuza Akter Kiron said the team in continuous training for a long time and hoped that this team would play the final after playing competitive matches.
BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Sohag and Bangladesh Women’s team’s team manager Amirul Islam Babu, Bangladesh Women’s team’s vice captain Mossamat Mishrat Jahan Moushumi and Dhaka Bank representative Khandakar Anwar Ihetesham were present on the occasion.
